Be Thankful

Have you ever felt like you are alone in this world, that no one cares about you or understands you? Have you ever faced a challenge that seemed too big to overcome, or a problem that had no solution? Have you ever wondered if there is a purpose for your life, or if you are just a random accident of nature?
If you have ever felt any of these things, I have some good news for you. You are not alone. You are not uncared for. You are not meaningless. You have a loving Father in heaven who knows you by name, who created you for a reason, and who has a wonderful plan for your life. He is God, and he listens to our prayers and he has our well-being always at heart.
God is not a distant or impersonal force. He is a personal and relational God who wants to have a close and intimate relationship with you. He wants to hear from you, to talk to you, to comfort you, to guide you, to bless you, and to help you in every situation. He is always available, always attentive, always compassionate, and always faithful. He is the best friend you can ever have.
But how do we communicate with God? How do we know that he hears us and answers us? How do we know what he wants for us and what he expects from us? The answer is simple: through prayer.
Prayer is not a ritual or a formula. It is not a magic spell or a wish list. It is not a way of manipulating God or getting what we want from him. Prayer is a conversation with God, a dialogue between two persons who love each other and trust each other. Prayer is the way we express our thoughts, feelings, desires, needs, praises, thanks, confessions, requests, and questions to God. Prayer is also the way we listen to God, receive his words, his wisdom, his guidance, his comfort, his correction, and his promises.
Prayer is the most powerful and effective way of connecting with God and experiencing his presence and power in our lives. Prayer can change our hearts, our minds, our attitudes, our perspectives, our actions, our relationships, our circumstances, and even our world. Prayer can bring us peace, joy, hope, faith, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, healing, protection, provision, direction, and purpose. Prayer can do anything that God can do.
But prayer is not something that we do on our own or by ourselves. Prayer is something that we do with God and through God. Prayer is possible because of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. He died for our sins and rose again from the dead so that we can be forgiven and reconciled with God. He opened the way for us to enter into God’s presence and enjoy his favor and friendship. He also gave us the Holy Spirit who lives in us and helps us to pray according to God’s will.
That’s why prayer is not only a privilege but also a responsibility for every believer. We are called to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), to pray in faith (James 5:15), to pray in the name of Jesus (John 14:13), to pray in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18), to pray with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), to pray with perseverance (Luke 18:1), to pray with others (Matthew 18:19), and to pray for everyone (1 Timothy 2:1).
So what are you waiting for? Start praying today and see what God will do in your life and through your life. Remember that he listens to our prayers and he has our well-being always at heart. He loves you more than you can imagine and he wants to bless you more than you can ask or think. So talk to him now and listen to him always. He is waiting for you.
